 Description:

A high percentage of persons with a history of traumatic brain injury (TBI) have some level of substance use disorders. The presence of significant substance can impact a persons’ ability to benefit from rehabilitation therapies. Often, rehabilitation targets are unrealistic and undermined by an array of psychosocial complications. A competency model for staff in the area of substance abuse has been developed to improve overall therapeutic outcomes.
