About The Event

With marijuana being so prevalent in headlines, it can be easy to become desensitized to its impact on those we serve. Smoke Screens is a look into the developmental and systemic factors associated with cannabis and other drug use as well as a consideration of the impact of that use on individuals, families, and communities.

In this workshop participants will:

 Grasp why brain changes occurring during adolescence create particular vulnerabilities

 Articulate specific risks related to adolescent marijuana use

 Prepare to influence adolescent clients’ personal risk perceptions from marijuana use

 Have practiced responses to predictable resistance to the information presented
