Description: This webinar will provide participants with an in-depth examination of compelling ethical and risk-management challenges in substance use disorder treatment and behavioral health. Dr. Frederic Reamer will explore high-risk ethical issues and practical strategies designed to protect clients, practitioners, supervisors, and agencies. Key topics will include boundary issues and dual relationships (including those that arise in rural communities), conflicts of interest, confidentiality (including 42 CFR Part 2 updates and mandatory reporting and duty-to-protect disclosures), privileged communication, informed consent, clients’ rights, termination of services, practitioners' and clients' use of technology and remote service delivery, and impaired professionals.
