Description:
This training is designed to provide behavioral health professionals with current updates to the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Criteria and strengthen the application of person-centered, evidence-based practices in substance use disorder treatment. Participants will receive an overview of recent ASAM updates, review the six assessment dimensions, and enhance their ability to determine the most appropriate level of care using comprehensive clinical decision-making.
The training will emphasize practical application through case scenarios, documentation examples, and discussions of common challenges encountered in clinical practice. Additional topics include medical necessity, multidimensional assessment, individualized treatment planning, continued service and transfer/discharge criteria, co-occurring disorders, risk assessment, and best practices for meeting Medicaid, CARF, and regulatory documentation standards.
